Join the Nixon Family Farm, NACC, The Liebe Group and the Yarra Yarra Catchment Management Group, along with special guests; Bob Nixon (host grower), Dan Wildy (Woodland Services), Gaus Azam (DPIRD), Lizzie King (NACC), Richard Blake (Richard Blake Consulting), Kerrie House (DPIRD), and Crawford Taylor (Rabobank) for a bus tour/field day plus round-table AgChats discussion filled with industry experts and an abundance of knowledge surrounding sustainable and profitable farming business models.
Bus Tour/Field Day | Departing Kalannie Sports Club at 2pm
The field day bus tour will depart from the Kalannie Sports Club at 2pm and join the Nixon Family along with industry experts for an interactive afternoon on-farm looking into profitable models for sustainable agricultural production in our region.
- Bob Nixon (host grower) will present an on-farm review of revegetation, biodiversity and carbon projects.
- Dan Wildy (Woodland Services) will discuss carbon and biodiversity project species mix, planting and registration.
- Gaus Azam‘s (DPIRD) talk will address fixing degraded Wodjil soils through soil ameliorating subsoil constraints and building soil health.
- Lizzie King (NACC) will say a few words about the overview of the project and outline available NACC opportunities.
AgChats Discussion | Kalannie Sports Club at 4pm
The bus tour will then conclude at the Kalannie Sports Club where a round-table AgChats discussion will be facilitated with guest speakers.
- Richard Brake (Richard Brake Consulting) specialises in carbon emissions and farm management.
- Kerrie House (DPIRD) will discuss the WA Carbon and Land Restoration Program.
- Crawford Taylor (Rabobank) will explain what is the ESG, and why farmers need to know about it.
We will conclude the event with a social sundowner.
