Regeneration of the Wheatbelt
On Wednesday the 11th October we took a bus tour from Perenjori heading south to Wubin picking people up along the way, in all 23 attended the day. Our site visit at Stuart McAlpines took us on a journey, asking us about how we feel about our communities and what we can do to improve and reinvigorate them. Food for thought, turning the wheatbelt into the foodbelt, involve more people and create niches on our farms. Do we need to get better at marketing and create stories around our produce?
Nuffield Scholars: Congratulations Boyd Carter & Dylan Hirsch, they both spoke about their focus for the next year. Boyd is concentrating on the "robotic revolution and how this will impact today's farming", while Dylan's focus is on "financial risk management systems in variable climates". We wish them every success and look forward to following there journey over the next 12 months.

A BioBlitz is a 24-hour event involving rapid collection of data about the biological diversity of a particular site; enabling scientists and other experts to identify as many plant and animal species as can be found in this limited time frame. It doesn’t provide a complete inventory of species, but rather a ‘snapshot’ of the species that occur in the area.
